It’s important to do everything you can to make sure it doesn’t become an overwhelming experience.<\/p>\n

\n1. Take your time
\nIf you allow yourself enough time, you can set up a schedule that will ensure you set aside enough time to finish each item on your to-do list and gather all the materials you need for your move.<\/p>\n

If you start this process as soon as possible, you’ll have time to remove unwanted items so you only take what you need to your new home. You also have time to make a complete inventory of each packaging box to simplify unpacking.<\/p>\n

By starting your preparations early, you’ll ensure that you don’t exhaust yourself in an attempt to fit too many tasks into a short period of time. If you want a stress-free move, it’s best to take your time \u2013 don’t let it all arrive at the last minute.<\/p>\n

2. Be flexible
\nWith so many different parties involved in a move,<\/a> it won’t always go according to plan, so it’s important to be flexible with changes during this period to limit the stress. Starting your tasks early should give you some breathing room to think about how to temporarily move forward if you do encounter obstacles.<\/p>\n

It can be worth having a backup plan and a list of the tasks you need to complete so you can bring other tasks forward if something gets delayed so you can keep your productivity up.<\/p>\n

3. Make a document box, move file
\nKeep all important documents, such as passports, house deeds, wills and insurance papers in one box or file, so you can easily access them. Keep this file in a safe place, in your handbag or purse, where you can easily find it and you will not put it in a box.<\/p>\n

It can also be a good idea to make electronic copies of important documents by scanning them and storing them on a computer.<\/p>\n

4. Use a relocation checklist<\/a>
